It advises what you should and should not do and how to protect your rights. You are not alone after a collision. Follow the steps below:

  • First, thoroughly inspect your body for injuries. Then, try to maintain your calm. Ensure the safety of all those present and that they remain on the scene.
  • If possible, move the vehicles to the side of the road. Turn on your emergency flashers to avoid further collisions. Stay in a safe location until the authorities arrive.
  • Notify the authorities of the accident.
  • Obtain the driver’s name, phone number, and insurance information after the collision. Please photograph the vehicle, the license plate, and other essential details.
  • Do not admit fault. Being truthful and mindful of your words is critical when speaking with officers.
