[05-17-2023] Riverside County, CA – 37-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train in Downtown Riverside

A 37-year-old woman named Jacqueline S. died after being struck by a Metrolink train in Riverside County on Wednesday morning, May 17, 2023.

The Riverside Police Department said the incident occurred at 6:00 a.m. near Commerce and Third Streets.

According to the report, Sweet and her companion were walking together when she was accidentally hit by a Metrolink train. Fortunately, her companion managed to avoid the train.

The reasons for walking on the tracks are unclear, but it is believed to be an accident with no suspicious circumstances.

No one on the train was harmed, and the Union Pacific Railroad police are investigating the incident.
