A bicyclist was killed following a collision with a car on the campus of Sacramento State University on Saturday morning, May 27, 2023.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident occurred on State University Drive near Sequoia Hall and the American River in Sacramento at around 11:37 a.m.
It is uncertain exactly how the incident happened, officials said. The investigation is still ongoing by the Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical officers.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
