Fatal Pedestrian Accident Statistics

According to data provided by the Governors Highway Safety Association, there was a significant decrease of 14% in overall traffic accident fatalities between 2007 and 2016. However, during the same period, pedestrian deaths experienced a substantial increase of 27%. This indicates a troubling upward trend in the number of pedestrians injured or killed by vehicles.

In 2012, California witnessed many pedestrian fatalities and injuries resulting from car accidents, with 809 reported deaths and 14,000 injuries. This disturbing pattern demands immediate attention and raises serious concerns.

Statistics from 2016 highlight that over 6,000 individuals died in traffic accidents throughout the United States, averaging approximately 88 deaths per minute. Around 137,000 injured individuals also required ambulance transportation to hospitals the following year.

These figures emphasize the gravity of the issue and the urgent need for proactive measures to address future accidents and reduce fatalities.
