One bicyclist was severely injured after being struck and pinned underneath the dump truck in Otay Mesa, San Diego, on Tuesday morning, June 6, 2023.
According to the local authorities, the incident occurred before 5:30 a.m. on southbound Britannia Boulevard, close to state Route 905.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found the bicyclist trapped beneath the dump truck, with the bicycle located nearby and visibly damaged.
While being extricated from beneath the truck, the bicyclist was alert and conversing with the first responders.
Following the incident, the injured bicyclist was promptly taken to a nearby hospital to treat undisclosed injuries medically.
The investigation is ongoing.
