[07-04-2023] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Child Sustained Head Injury After Dirt Bikes Collision in Templeton

A child sustained a head injury after a collision involving two dirt bikes at Templeton in San Luis Obispo County on Tuesday afternoon, July 4, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at about 4:20 p.m. on South Main Street in Templeton.

The events leading to the accident are still unknown, but it involves a 10-year-old and a 15-year-old riding dirt bikes on private property. As a result of the collision, the 10-year-old sustained a head injury and suspected broken bones.

A ground ambulance transported the 10-year-old to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, while the 15-year-old appeared unharmed.

There has been no identification of the people involved in the accident by the local authorities.

The investigation into the crash continues. Both juveniles were reportedly wearing helmets during the crash.
