[07-01-2023] At Least 1 Person Injured After Multi-Vehicle Collision in Caldecott TunnelAt least one person was injured following a multi-vehicle collision near Orinda on Saturday afternoon, July 1, 2023.

The report stated that the incident occurred in Caldecott Tunnel around 2:00 p.m.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office officers were pursuing 24-year-old Alquanto J., who was driving a stolen Subaru Outback. The chase resulted in three other vehicles being hit.

Henry N. occupied one of the vehicles involved. He complained of neck and back pain. No information was released regarding how many were injured in the incident.

Alquanto was detained at Contra Costa County Jail on suspicion of GTA and evading the police.
