[07-06-2023] Kings County, CA – Former Employee Crashes into Hanford Jewelry Store, Injures Four before Fatally Shooting Himself

Several individuals were injured after a former employee crashed his truck into a jewelry store in Hanford on Thursday afternoon, July 6, 2023.

According to the Hanford Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. near 7th and Douty Streets.

The report said a man, described as a former employee, crashed his truck into the store before firing his gun and ultimately taking his life through a self-inflicted gunshot.

Following the incident, four individuals inside the store suffered injuries from the truck’s impact. Thankfully, no one was directly harmed by the gunfire, although some individuals sustained cuts from broken glass caused by the crash.

Tami Oliviera, a friend and neighboring business owner, witnessed the traumatic incident, hearing numerous gunshots as she neared the scene.

The tragic event prompted the closure of a portion of 7th Street for a few hours while a tow truck worked to remove the vehicle from the store.
