[07-19-2023] At Least One Individual Possibly Injured After Overturned U-Haul Truck and Big-Rig Crash on Highway 99At least one person was possibly injured after a collision between a truck and a big rig pulling a boat on Highway 99, Merced County, on Wednesday morning, July 19, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on the north side of Highway 99, just north of Manning Avenue, around 4:00 a.m.

The U-haul truck pulling a trailer collided with the big rig. The collision caused a prolonged blockage of all three lanes, leading to significant delays. The number of people involved and the extent of possible injuries remain unclear.

By 7:15 a.m., the CHP confirmed that the obstruction had been cleared, although traffic remained slow, as observed on Caltrans cameras.

The cause of the crash remains unknown while the investigation is ongoing.
