After exiting their vehicle, a person was struck and killed by another vehicle in San Diego, as reported on Friday afternoon, July 28, 2023.
According to law enforcement and CALTRANS, the incident occurred at the westbound state Route 52 ramp to northbound Interstate 805, near Kearny Mesa, around 12:00 p.m.
The incident involved two collisions. The first collision was a fender-bender between the victim’s sedan and a semi-truck. When the sedan driver stepped out of their vehicle to speak with the semi-truck driver, the sedan driver was struck by a third vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved or the cause of the crash, pending an investigation.
