[08-10-2023] Santa Clara County, CA – Hispanic Man Killed & At Least 1 Person Injured After Suspected DUI Crash in Mountain View

A man was killed, while at least one person was injured following a suspected DUI solo-vehicle crash in Mountain View on Thursday morning, August 10, 2023.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Art M., the incident occurred on the southbound lane of Highway 101 near the southbound offramp for Highway 85 at around 3:50 a.m.

A black Ford Edge was reported to have crashed into a concrete wall divider on the highway. The car’s driver, a 23-year-old man from San Jose, is being investigated for DUI. The third person has been identified as a 25-year-old San Pablo man.

The victim, a Hispanic man, was crushed in the vehicle following the crash, while the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Santa Clara Valley. It is unclear whether the third person was harmed in the incident.

The driver will be transported to jail on suspicion of DUI once he receives medical clearance.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until the notification of the next of kin.
