[08-12-2023] Fresno County, CA – Three People Injured, Including Female Passenger Ejected From Vehicle After High-Speed Crash on Hwy 99

A high-speed crash injured three people, including a female passenger ejected from their vehicle in Fresno on Saturday afternoon, August 12, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident on Highway 99 near Ashlan Avenue around 12:14 p.m.

In a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, a 25-year-old male driver lost control at a high rate of speed. The vehicle stopped after going up an embankment, crashing into a tree, and rolling over multiple times.

After being ejected from the car, the 25-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries. A minor passenger and the driver suffered cuts and scrapes. All of them were treated at a local hospital. The authorities did not release their identities.

While the investigation continues, no alcohol or drugs are suspected of being involved in the crash.
