[08-14-2023] Alameda County, CA – Passenger Killed, Motorcyclist Injured After Colliding With Van in Union City

A motorcyclist was injured while their passenger was killed in a collision with a van in Union City on Monday afternoon, August 14, 2023.

The Union City Police Department responded to the accident in the 1600 block of Whipple Road around 3:00 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, but it involved a motorcycle and a van. A local hospital stabilized the motorcyclist’s condition after he was transported there. An immediate death was reported for the passenger of the motorcycle.

The van driver stayed and cooperated with police at the scene.
