A 59-year-old man was injured and hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in American Canyon on Sunday morning, August 20, 2023.

According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred at around 12:49 a.m. near Kimberly Drive on Highway 29.

Authorities said the victim sustained significant injuries and was admitted to the hospital. Following the incident, officers identified the suspect as Lester V., a 30-year-old resident of Vallejo.

Officials said the suspect was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies under a felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident that caused injury.
