[09-26-2023] Alameda County, CA – Elderly Woman Found Dead Day After Hit-And-Run Collision in Oakland

An elderly Santa Rosa woman was found dead a day after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in Oakland on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the collision happened between Seminary Avenue and Outlook Avenue.

The elderly victim was found dead on the side of the road, 50 yards away from the bus stop, around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as 72-year-old Mara Li D. from Santa Rosa. She was reportedly visiting Oakland and was hit by an unknown vehicle while walking to the bus stop.

The police confirmed that the driver left the scene of the accident. They have located the driver and currently have him in custody.

The authorities have not released further information about the cause of the collision.
