[10-18-2023] Fresno County, CA – 23-Year-Old Scooter Rider Killed Following Hit-And-Run Collision in Clovis

A 23-year-old pedestrian identified as Joshua H. was killed after being hit by an SUV while crossing the street on his scooter in Clovis early Wednesday morning, October 18, 2023.

The Clovis Police Department responded to reports of the crash around 12:30 a.m. on Shaw Avenue and Willow Avenue.

An officer found the pedestrian on the roadway and immediately administered CPR until medical teams took over and transported the victim to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigation revealed that the SUV was heading northbound on Willow and was passing a green traffic light when the collision occurred. Officers attempted to pull the SUV over, but reports stated another person got on the wheel and drove off.

Police then later arrested 35-year-old Tracy S. and 35-year-old Latray M., who were involved in the hit-and-run.

Officials did not indicate whether drugs or alcohol were involved, but further investigation into the crash’s cause and its factors is ongoing.
