[12-23-2023] San Joaquin County, CA – 52-Year-Old Man Killed Following Hit-And-Run Crash Near Tracy

A 52-year-old man was killed following a hit-and-run collision near Tracy on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred around noon on Paradise Road, north of Interstate 205.

The black Chevy Silverado pickup truck went off the road for an unknown reason and struck the man. Upon impact, the pedestrian fell down an embankment and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports indicate that the driver did not stop and instead drove north on Paradise Rd. Police received information about the driver and pickup truck from witnesses at the scene.

The damaged truck was found at a home in Lathrop. An arrest warrant was issued after several interviews with the suspected driver. He was charged with felony hit and run and vehicular manslaughter.

Investigations into the fatal collision are still ongoing, and no further details have been released.
