[12-31-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Three People Hospitalized, Two More Injured After Pursuit Led to Multi-Vehicle Collision in San Gabriel

Three people were hospitalized and two more were injured after a pursuit led to a multi-vehicle collision in San Gabriel on Sunday afternoon, December 31, 2023.

According to the San Gabriel Fire Department, the pursuit was initiated before 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Sunset Avenue.

The authorities were alerted to a stolen ambulance, which struck multiple vehicles during the pursuit until it ended in the 2800 block of Canterbury Road in San Marino.

Five people sustained minor injuries. Two of them were treated at the scene, while three others were transported to a local hospital.

The suspect was identified as a man in his 40s who was arrested for felony evading and grand theft auto charges. He allegedly has an extensive criminal history.

The authorities have not released further information about the collision.
