What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident In Compton, CA

If you’re still able to do so after a pedestrian accident, try to maintain your composure. To safeguard your health and rights to compensation, try to take the following steps:

  • Call 911 and look for any injuries. Go to a safe location, but do not leave the accident scene. Ask for assistance and remain still if movement will make your injuries worse. Allow the paramedics to treat you.
  • If possible, make a note of the driver’s and any witnesses’ contact information. The police will benefit much from this when making their official report.
  • Take photos and videos of your injuries, the car that was involved, and the accident scene if you are able.
  • Discuss the incident with the authorities, but refrain from assuming anything, apologizing, or accepting responsibility.
  • Seek immediate medical attention at a hospital and follow your physician’s recommendations closely.
  • Don’t share anything on social media. Insurance adjusters may find a way to undermine your claim and lower the amount they must pay you.
