A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Yosemite Boulevard in Modesto on Tuesday morning, August 5, 2025.
According to the Modesto Police Department, the pedestrian was struck near Santa Cruz Avenue while the Toyota Tacoma was traveling eastbound on Yosemite Boulevard west of Santa Barbara Avenue. Despite first responders providing medical aid, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Yosemite Boulevard was temporarily closed in both directions between Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa avenues but has since reopened.
The man’s identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified. Authorities have not provided details regarding whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
