One person was killed, and two others were injured in a head-on collision in Rancho Cordova on Tuesday afternoon, August 5, 2025.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the crash occurred just after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of White Rock and Grant Line roads.
The California Highway Patrol said a Hyundai traveling northbound on Grant Line Road collided head-on with a southbound Subaru.
The 21-year-old driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.
A 12-year-old passenger in the Hyundai and the 24-year-old driver of the Subaru both sustained major injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
CHP officials have not yet confirmed whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
