[08-11-2025] Los Angeles County, CA โ€“ Driver Killed After Truck Tire Strikes Car on 60 Freeway in Pomona

A driver was killed when a tire from a truck smashed through the windshield of a car on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Pomona on Monday morning, August 11, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at 2:26 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at the Garey Avenue off-ramp.

CHP said the truck was traveling westbound when it lost a tire that crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a white Lexus sedan. A video from the scene showed the carโ€™s windshield shattered, and part of the roof collapsed.

The Lexus driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
