[08-09-2025] Contra Costa County, CA โ€“ Teen Killed, Five Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Ygnacio Valley Road

A 16-year-old girl died and five others were injured following a multi-vehicle crash on Ygnacio Valley Road in Contra Costa County on Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2025.

According to reports, the collision occurred around 4:40 p.m. east of Oak Grove when three vehicles were involved, one of which, believed to be an electric vehicle, caught fire and ignited a secondary vehicle.

Authorities said one person was trapped in the wreckage, and multiple victims required urgent medical care. An air ambulance landed on Ygnacio Valley Road to transport a teen victim to a hospital in Oakland, while a 14-year-old was also flown to the Childrenโ€™s Hospital in Oakland. Four others were taken by ground ambulance to John Muir Medical Center.

The 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. By late Saturday, officials confirmed that all other injured victims were in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
