[08-05-2026] Riverside County, CA – Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Crash Involving Suspected Impaired Driver in Perris

A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash involving a suspected impaired driver in Perris on Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2026.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the incident at around 2:20 p.m. at the 500 block of West Fourth Street.

The driver, identified as 61-year-old Mauricio C. of Murrieta, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Perris Traffic Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation and determined that the driver was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of driving under the influence, causing serious bodily injury.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
