[08-08-2026] Orange County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Suspected Impaired Driver in Mission Viejo

A 60-year-old pedestrian, identified as Duo L., died after being struck by a suspected impaired driver in Mission Viejo, Orange County, on Saturday night, August 8, 2026.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred shortly before 9:20 p.m.

The victim was transported to a hospital following the incident and was pronounced dead on Sunday.

Authorities identified the suspected driver as 18-year-old Caleb B. of Mission Viejo. He was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision.
