[10-03-2026] Glenn County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Suspected DUI Collision Involving Pickup Truck in Fruto

A 67-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with a pickup truck in Fruto in Glenn County on Saturday morning, October 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1984 Dodge pickup driven by 26-year-old Cameron V. of Stonyford was traveling eastbound on Highway 162, east of County Road 304.

CHP said the Dodge crossed the center line into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2005 BMW motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 67-year-old Chico man, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver suffered minor injuries, including facial bruising and lacerations. CHP said investigators determined that he was under the influence at the time of the collision.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Glenn County Jail on suspicion of murder.

CHP continues to investigate the incident.
