[10-09-2026] Shasta County, CA – Four People Injured After Three-Car Crash in Redding

Four people sustained moderate to major injuries after a three-car crash in Redding on Friday evening, October 9, 2026.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers and Community Service officers responded at around 5:30 p.m. to the intersection of Lake Boulevard and Black Marble Way on Highway 299 after receiving reports of a traffic collision.

Upon arrival, officers and first responders found three vehicles involved in the crash, with multiple people injured.

Police said a red 2004 Lexus IS and a black 2013 Volkswagen Passat were traveling eastbound on Highway 299 in separate lanes, while a silver 1998 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound.

The driver of the Toyota attempted to turn left onto the southbound Black Marble Way, crossing in front of the oncoming Lexus and Volkswagen.

The Toyota collided nearly head-on with the Lexus at the intersection. The impact also caused the Lexus to collide with the Volkswagen.

Authorities stated the Lexus rolled over end over end and came to rest on the south shoulder of Highway 299, also known as Lake Boulevard.

The Toyota Camry caught fire after the crash, but crews from the Redding Fire Department quickly extinguished the flames.

Four people were transported to local hospitals with moderate to major injuries. All three vehicles were damaged beyond operation and had to be towed from the scene.

Authorities said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
