Two people were killed after a fatal wrong-way collision on I-80 on Sunday morning, March 20, 2022.

[03-20-2022] Contra Costa County, CA - Wrong-Way Collision on I-80 Kills Two PeopleThe fatal collision transpired at approximately 3:41 a.m. in the area of Interstate 80, near Carquinez Bridge and Cummings Skyway.

A westbound Honda SUV was traveling on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 for unclear reasons and collided head-on with an oncoming eastbound Tesla Model 3.

A third vehicle, an eastbound Toyota Camry, struck the two automobiles and set them on fire. Both the Honda and Tesla drivers died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Toyota driver sustained minor injuries.

At least one of the involved vehicles caught fire following the collision. Information about the accident is limited at the moment.
