One unidentified person was killed after a deadly freeway shooting in the South Gate area on early Tuesday morning, April 5, 2022.
The incident happened at approximately 12:25 a.m. on the northbound side of the 710 Freeway, just south of Florence Avenue.
A man driving a black sedan started to fire shots at the victim’s vehicle traveling in the other lane. It’s unclear what the motive of the suspect was.
The victim immediately pulled over in the center median and immediately called 911 while the shooter drove away from the scene and exited Florence Avenue.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His identity has not been disclosed.
Information on the suspect’s identity and whereabouts is unavailable at the moment. The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the case.
