Pedestrian Accident Statistics
Pedestrians are the most vulnerable road users in an accident because they can’t protect themselves from serious or even fatal injuries that would otherwise occur.
There has been an alarming increase in the number of pedestrian deaths in the United States in recent years. More pedestrians were killed between 2007 and 2016, while the number of other traffic-related deaths decreased by 14.
There was no room for doubt when it came to drunk drivers injuring pedestrians. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is a serious offense. Drunk driving accidents aren’t as common as they should be in the United States.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), drunk driving kills approximately 30 Americans every day in the United States. In the United States, an estimated 29 percent of all traffic-related deaths are caused by drunk driving. Their blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is usually higher than the legal limit of 0.08%.
