[04-19-2022] Fresno County, CA - Suspected DUI Killed Two People and One Injured in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Near Island Water ParkAccording to the authorities, two men were killed in a fatal collision near Island Water Park in Fresno early Saturday morning, April 19, 2022.

The collision occurred at 12:30 a.m., in the area of West Barstow and North Contessa avenues.

A dark-colored Jeep traveling northbound on Barstow near Contessa struck a power pole. Electricity was knocked out in the area as a result.

Officers discovered the Jeep in the middle of the road with major damage, according to Fresno Police Lt. Ignacio R. Four men were reportedly ejected, according to police.

Officers discovered two men in a nearby dirt field, Amit A., 25, of India, and Abhishek C., 22, who they believed were occupants of the vehicle and were killed in the collision. Choudhary’s hometown was unknown, according to the coroner’s office.

According to Ruiz, alcohol and speed played a role.

Another man was discovered in the area, conscious and breathing, and was taken to a hospital, according to Ruiz. His status is unknown.
