[05-08-2022] Stanislaus County, CA – 32-Year-Old Man Injured in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in East Modesto

A 32-year-old man identified as Dalton B. sustained injuries in a DUI hit-and-run crash involving three vehicles east of Modesto Sunday, May 8, 2022.

[05-08-2022] Stanislaus County, CA - 32-Year-Old Man Injured in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in East Modesto spokesman Officer Tom Olsen said the collision occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Albers Road, just south of Dusty Lane.

According to the preliminary investigation, Carlo H., 26, of Los Angeles, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen sedan north on Albers with two other men as passengers.

According to Olsen, Higuerra allowed his vehicle to partially enter the southbound lane, where it collided with a 2016 Nissan SUV driven by Binda of Turlock.

Higuerra and two of his passengers fled west after the crash, according to Olsen.

Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies assisted the CHP in locating and apprehending the men and returning them to the crash scene.

According to Olsen, Higuerra sustained minor injuries and, once medically cleared, will face felony DUI and hit-and-run causing injury charges.

He said the passengers, whose identities were unknown as of Sunday morning, would not face charges.

Olsen further stated that Binda also sustained minor injuries and was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Cheyenne S., 21, of Denair, was driving the third vehicle, a 2022 Kia sedan.

Olsen said her car was hit by debris when the VW and Nissan collided, but she was unharmed.
