The authorities have identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle crossing the street in Palmdale on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, the fatal collision happened around 4:55 a.m. on SR-14, just south of Palmdale Boulevard.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, the name of the pedestrian victim was 44-year-old Rolando N. of Lancaster.
According to the CHP report, Navarro was standing in the center divider/left shoulder of southbound SR-14 when he began crossing traffic lanes and walking eastward.
According to the CHP report, Navarro was then struck by a 2017 Toyota Corolla traveling southbound in the No. 3 lane at approximately 65 miles per hour. At the scene, Navarro was pronounced dead.
According to the CHP report, the Corolla’s driver, 38-year-old Diego H. of Palmdale, drove a short distance ahead before pulling over and dialing 911. Hernandez was not hurt in the accident.
At this time, the involvement of alcohol or drugs is unknown and is still being investigated.
