According to the police, a man died after his vehicle was engulfed in flames after a fatal traffic collision in Vallejo on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
The crash occurred around 11:13 p.m. at the 800 block of Sonoma Boulevard.
Officers used fire extinguishers to put out the flames until firefighters arrived to put out the fire completely and extract the vehicle’s occupant, a 25-year-old man.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.
The authorities determined that the man’s vehicle was traveling north on Sonoma Boulevard when it collided with another vehicle traveling south during the incident. The man then collided with a third vehicle traveling north.
According to the local authorities, a passenger in the man’s car and the driver of the second vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries.
The third vehicle did not result in any injuries.
The traffic division of the Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
