[05-20-2022] Kern County, CA - One Person Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in WascoAccording to the California Highway Patrol incident page, one unidentified person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Wasco on Friday, May 20, 2022.

The crash occurred around 5:58 a.m. near Kimberlina Road between Root Avenue and Poplar Avenue in Wasco.

The accident reportedly involved a white semi-truck and a red Ford Explorer.

The semi-truck flipped over onto its side. According to CHP, it was transporting 7,200 gallons of red dye diesel, which was leaking onto the road.

The Department of Environmental Health was dispatched to the scene.

The spilled diesel, according to CHP, is contained in the dirt and is not affecting the waterways.

At least one person was reported to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
