According to city officials, one person in a wheelchair was injured in a hit-and-run crash in St. Helena on Tuesday night, May 24, 2022.
The crash occurred at 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Spring Street.
The victim was struck by a southbound vehicle.
The unidentified person in the wheelchair was heading west on the Main Street crosswalk.
According to police, the driver has not been identified and is still on the loose.
The suspect vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla with noticeable front-end damage, was last seen driving westbound on Spring Street.
The victim was taken to St. Helena Primary School, about a mile away, after first responders located him.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter airlifted the victim from the school to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa.
Officials said the victim was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition with serious injuries.
The medical center is about 20 miles from the St. Helena incident.
There are no other details available.
The crash remains under investigation.
