Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
In the United States, there are way too many car accidents. About 33,654 people are killed in car accidents every year.
Los Angeles is a busy city with many places where a car accident could happen. The 405, 101, 10, and 5 are often crowded, and there are many chances for rear-end collisions on your way to work or school.
At the end of 2016, there were 55,350 accidents on the roads of Los Angeles. This is about 20% more than what they did the year before. According to the LA Times, every 40 hours, at least one person dies in a car accident in Los Angeles.
One kind of car accident is when more than one car gets into trouble simultaneously. Accidents like this happen when two or more cars crash into each other. There is a good chance three cars will be hit when two cars crash.
Several factors caused these collisions, including dangerous behaviors such as distracted driving, speeding, driving while intoxicated, driving in bad weather, driving the wrong way, and failing to obey traffic laws.
If you’re in a crash with more than one car, be careful when you hit the brakes and steer toward something soft, like a bush or a railing, instead of another car. Also, keep an eye out for people who might be wandering around after an accident has happened.
