Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Single-vehicle accidents kill an alarming number of people in California every year.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that single-vehicle accidents are to blame for 62% of all California fatalities in car accidents. When driving in California, there are several things to keep in mind that could cause an accident.
Numerous factors can contribute to a single-vehicle accident. On a slick road, the risk of an off-the-road accident or a runaway vehicle increases with speed and sharp turns. The road may have debris such as a large branch or something that fell from a truck’s bed.
Even if the single-car accident is caused by something other than your or another driver’s negligence, your insurance policy’s comprehensive coverage plan will likely limit your recovery.
