[07-02-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - 7-Year-Old Girl Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 5 FreewayAccording to authorities, a 7-year-old daughter died after falling from a moving car onto the northbound 5 Freeway on Saturday, July 2, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 3:40 a.m. close to Weldon Canyon Road in the Newhall region.

According to a CHP statement, officers arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call from a driver who claimed that a car had hit an unknown stationary object, which was blocking the roadway.

It was found that the unidentified object was a child who had been hit by several vehicles.

Initial investigations revealed that the 7-year-old female child was fatally injured when she fell out of a moving 1999 Lincoln Navigator through an open window. The circumstances surrounding the girl’s death are currently under investigation.

According to the CHP, Veronda G., the mother of the girl, and Michael B., the mother’s boyfriend, were both detained on suspicion of child endangerment.

The girl’s name has not been disclosed until her kin is notified.

The Lincoln’s driver was Gladney, 28, of Lancaster, and its passengers included the girl, who is also from Lancaster, and Branch, 39, of Hawthorne.

The crash remains under investigation.
