[07-17-2022] Fresno County, CA - Man Killed in Hit-And-Run Collision Involving a Truck in Southeast FresnoAccording to the Fresno Police Department, a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash late in southeast Fresno Saturday night, July 17, 2022.

The deadly collision occurred just before midnight on Belmont Avenue near First Street.

According to Lt. Sean Biggs, the man appeared to be in his 50s when he was discovered lying on the eastbound lanes of Belmont.

At the scene, the man was pronounced dead.

According to a few witnesses, the truck was a white Chevrolet pickup that was a recent model with black rims, tinted windows, and the appearance of being slightly lowered, Biggs said.

According to witnesses, the car turned into a turn pocket on North Fisher Street, made a U-turn, and fled north on Second Street.

According to Biggs, the man was struck in the No. 1 lane as he crossed the street from the south to the north.

According to everything and the impact, Biggs said there was probably damage to the truck’s front end.
