[07-22-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Male Skateboarder Fatally Struck in a Hit-and-Run Collision in Highland

A male skateboarder was killed after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Highland early Friday morning, July 22, 2022.

According to investigators, the individual was riding a skateboard in the westbound lanes of East 3rd Street when he was hit by a car going west.

Deputies responded to East 3rd Street, east of Tippecanoe Avenue, around 12:48 a.m. for a report of an unconscious man lying on the road. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim died at the scene.

The vehicle’s driver did not stop and fled the area before deputies arrived.

The case is under investigation.
