SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH STATISTICS

Single-vehicle collisions are among California’s most dangerous types of car accidents, but many drivers are unaware of this.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), single-vehicle accidents account for 62% of all fatal car accidents in California (NHTSA). Drivers must be aware of the various factors involved due to California’s high number of single-vehicle accidents.

A variety of factors can cause a single-vehicle collision. A run-off-the-road collision happens when a driver loses control of their vehicle while speeding or making sharp turns on a wet, slick road. Debris on the road can include a large branch or something that fell from the back of a truck.

In a single-car accident caused by something other than your or another driver’s fault, such as a deer running in front of your car, your comprehensive coverage plan will most likely limit your recovery.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY CAR ACCIDENT LAWYERS

Most people find it difficult to return to work or school after an automobile accident. It is still considered a crime when another person dies due to reckless driving. Victims or their heirs may file wrongful death lawsuits against the negligent drivers who killed their loved ones.

They find it difficult to revisit their painful pasts of loss and grief. During depositions and courtrooms, victims are forced to testify about their losses in front of strangers. When legal issues take too long to resolve, people’s mental health suffers.

To hold a driver accountable for a car accident, immediate action is required. There must be accountability for the high death toll caused by inattention. While pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit can be exhausting, it can also help bereaved families cope with losing a loved one. As a result, drivers in that state should expect significant changes in their driving experiences.
