[09-13-2022] Fresno County, CA – Fleeing High-Speed SUV Crashes into Big Rig, Injuring Multiple People on Conejo

According to the Fresno Police Department, a big rig collided with a vehicle trying to escape the authorities at high speeds as it fled the scene Tuesday evening, September 13, 2022.

The crash occurred just after 6:40 p.m. southbound Cedar into the intersection on Conejo.

A Fresno police officer saw a gray SUV going at high speed. Police say that the car went as fast as 120 miles per hour.

When the officer saw the gray SUV going too fast, he immediately called for help. Several units tried to stop the car but it drove away at high speed.

Officers did not start a chase because it was dangerous for the public when the car left Jensen and went east, then turned south on Highway 41.

Police say that the suspect car then went south on Cedar and hit a big rig when it got to the intersection at Conejo.

The suspect vehicle had a lot of damage, and the big rig had flipped over. Three or four people were found inside the suspect vehicle, but none had life-threatening injuries.

All the people were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, but the big rig driver was not hurt.

The accident with the collision is still being looked into.
