[02-21-2021] Fresno County, CA – Mom and Twins Injured After a Fatal DUI Crash near Belmont Avenue

A mom and her three-year-old twins were seriously hurt after getting struck by an intoxicated driver near Belmont Avenue on Sunday night, February 21.

The deadly accident transpired at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Palm Avenue near Belmont Avenue.

The mother and her twins were heading westbound in a sedan on Palm Avenue. The mother slowed down after seeing a semi-truck turning in front of them.

The sedan was then later rear-ended by an SUV driven by 47-year-old Ray Anthony P. Due to the severity of the impact, the sedan crashed into the back of the semi-truck.

The mother and her twins sustained serious injuries, one of her twins were in critical condition. They were rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

It was later determined that the SUV driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The SUV driver was booked into Fresno County Jail Sunday night on several charges, including driving under the influence causing great bodily injury.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
