[12-31-2020] Nevada County, CA – 1 Killed, Another Injured After a three-vehicle Crash in Grass Valley

One person was killed while another was injured after a multi-vehicle traffic collision in Grass Valley on Thursday night, December 31.

The deadly collision took place on Highway 49, north of Cerrito Road in Grass Valley, at approximately 11:11 p.m. A 35-foot motorhome was driving southbound on the highway when it suddenly crossed into the northbound lanes, collided head-on with an oncoming northbound Nissan Altima driven by a 56-year-old woman.

The motorhome also later crashed into a 2010 Dodge Charger that was behind the Nissan. The Nissan driver sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was later pronounced dead, while the Dodge driver suffered minor injuries.

The motorhome driver was later identified as 80-year-old Raymond Poquette. He was booked into Nevada County Jail Friday afternoon on one count of murder.
