[01-04-2024] El Dorado County, CA – At Least One Person Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 50

At least one person was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision in El Dorado County late Thursday morning, January 4, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the head-on crash occurred on Highway 50 in the Sierra at around 10:30 a.m.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash, including a Toyota Corolla, a Dodge Ram, and a Subaru Forester. The Toyota Corolla reportedly struck the Dodge Ram before crashing head-on into the Subaru Forester a few miles later.

The driver of the Subaru Forester was airlifted to a hospital, where they are expected to be in good condition. The driver of the Corolla fled the scene but was later found nearby.

Police identified the Corolla driver as 26-year-old Jennie G, a Sacramento resident who was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run.
