An unidentified woman was killed while another person was seriously injured after a deadly two-vehicle crash in Los Banos on Friday evening, January 28, 2022.
The fatal collision happened at the intersection of Center Avenue and Almond Drive at approximately 7:14 p.m.
A westbound 2007 GMC was initially traveling on Almond drive when the driver ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the front left side of a 2006 Honda.
Due to the severity of the impact, both vehicles continued in a northwest direction before stopping. The Honda was stopped at an agricultural field.
The GMC driver was ejected from his vehicle and sustained major injuries. He was rushed to Memorial North Hospital for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Unfortunately, the female Honda driver was killed in the mishap. She was declared dead at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the crash. Local authorities are further investigating the accident.
