[02-09-2023] Elderly Woman Killed in National City Two-Vehicle CollisionA 93-year-old woman was killed following a two-vehicle collision in National City on Thursday morning, February 09, 2023.

According to the National City Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at 11:36 a.m. at 110 National City Boulevard and East 1st Street intersection.

The elderly woman, identified as local resident Elisa M., was a riding a transport van as a passenger traveling north on the boulevard. The van collided with a Nissan sedan in the intersection, and the impact sent it to hit a light standard.

The police and fire personnel arrived to the area and extricated the victim from the vehicle. Life support procedures were provided, but the woman was declared dead by 11:55 a.m. due to blunt force injuries.

The victim’s next of kin has been notified. What exactly led to the collision remains under investigation by the National City Police.

Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident Statistics
