Reckless Accident Statistics
Every year, careless drivers cause thousands of accidents and injuries, and hundreds of deaths in the United States. Reckless driving is defined as “a wanton disregard” for the safety of other drivers, passengers, and pedestrians by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The number of fatalities caused by careless driving is difficult to predict. However, a AAA survey from 2009 found that reckless driving was a factor in 56% of incidents between 2003 and 2007. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Fatal Accident Reporting System shows that speeding is a major factor in many fatal car accidents across the country.
What to Do After a Car Accident
Call the police immediately if you’ve been in a car accident. Never make assumptions when responding to law enforcement questions; instead, provide only the facts. Apologies from victims are possible even if they had nothing to do with causing the issue. Such actions could be grounds for a claim denial by an insurance provider.
A copy of the report can be requested from the appropriate authorities. The online form is available if you’d prefer to send your inquiry that way. As soon as we receive your claim, we will work on it. If you want a free consultation with your claim, don’t hesitate to contact us.
