One unidentified person was killed while another person was seriously hurt following a deadly two-vehicle traffic crash in Sonora on Monday morning, February 14, 2022.
The deadly crash happened on Highway 49, just north of Chicken Ranch Road in Sonora, at approximately 6:45 a.m.
A southbound Volkswagen Jetta was traveling on Highway 49 when a 2003 Ford Mustang suddenly entered the highway. The Jetta then crashed into the driver’s side of the Mustang.
The Jetta driver was rushed to Doctor’s Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, another person sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment. It’s unclear whether intoxication played a role in the crash.
Local authorities are further investigating the case.
